Past project
In 2006, AVCA has mobilized 3 rural poor communities to educate them on hygiene and sanitation, topic discussed was home based hygiene as well as hand wash with soap after defecation in the Yendi District of the Northern Region. AVCA also formed community based hygiene volunteers and trained them in the communities to carried out hygiene and sanitation education and sensitization on hand washing in all the communities. AVCA organized workshop for opinion leaders, women, youth, TBA’s license chemical sellers, community pharmacy assistance and other vulnerable in 5 communities in the Tamale metropolis for the use of the new drug its policies and the use of ITN’s and its treatment
Current project
AVCA is mobilizing and sensitizing 20 rural and peri-urban communities on issues of HIV/AIDS. This project targeted to prevent some 400 children (youth in and out of schools) from HIV/AIDS in the cities. The will train and equipped 40 volunteers from the communities who are educating people in their communities, and also providing house-to-house sensitization and education support to families and households. This project is implementing in Yendi district of the northern of Ghana
The organisation was implementing livelihood project in Yendi District, which was funded by Agriculture sector improvement programme under the ministry of Agric 2007and we are mobilizing and training 15 women economic groups involving 150 rural women in the District and this women will provided with micro-credit to capitalize their income generating activities.
